Solid Waste Management Plan Public and Technical Advisory Committee

The BC Provincial Government requires that regional districts develop plans for the management of solid waste and recyclable materials. This is called a Solid Waste Management Plan. Every ten years, these plans need to be updated.  

The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) is initiating the process to update the Solid Waste Management Plan (2011). This plan will outline how the SCRD will manage garbage, recycling, green waste, and food waste programs for the next 10 years. Stay up to date on this project by visiting letstalk.scrd.ca/trash.

The Public and Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC) is a group of residents and technical advisors that will provide feedback, input and ideas to help guide the creation of the Solid Waste Management Plan.
