Sustainable Development

Recent heatwaves, droughts, wildfires, and atmospheric rivers have shown the need for local action on the Sunshine Coast. We also know the window to drastically reduce carbon pollution and avoid unstoppable global warming is rapidly closing. The SCRD has engaged the community in developing a Community Climate Action Plan (CCAP) and is leading by example with its Corporate Carbon Neutrality Plan. The CCAP lays out areas for action that are needed to build a resilient and vibrant community. It also highlights core action the SCRD will focus on.
