The SCRD has launched a community-wide effort to revamp the Hopkins Landing dock. The dock was closed to public access in June 2023 after a structural assessment found it was unsafe for public use.
April 2025 – Update
When the Hopkins Landing Dock was closed, the float was removed and placed into storage. Repairs were identified as part of the renovation project. Recently, upon closer inspection, it was discovered that the float was in significant disrepair and could not be reused.
Last week, the SCRD Board approved funding for a new replacement float. This replacement will require a separate design and construction contract and will not be completed alongside the main dock upgrades, which are expected to proceed in the early fall.
We will share further updates as more information becomes available.
