The swiya of the shíshálh people lies between Queens Reach in Jervis Inlet and Howe Sound on the south coast of British Columbia. Historically there were four main settlements at kalpilin (Pender Harbour), ts’unay (Deserted Bay), xenichen (Jervis Inlet) and tewankw near Porpoise Bay.

Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw
On the Sunshine Coast, the territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish) people extends from West Howe Sound, through Gibsons and Elphinstone to Roberts Creek. Outside of the Sunshine Coast, the Squamish Nation land includes Burrard Inlet, English Bay, False Creek, and the Howe Sound watersheds.
