Board Policies

Board Policies are policies that direct staff in making consistent decisions on a recurring issue affecting members of the public and/or more than one department which usually has an external focus.

Board Policies:

  • Are approved by the Board and within the Board’s jurisdiction.
  • Guide and inform Board decision-making to achieve consistent outcomes, and common interpretation.
  • Convey a common understanding of the Board’s strategic direction.
  • Are related to SCRD governance, programs and/or services.
  • Impact the community.
